“A Winter Wonderland Assemblage”- Christmas edition

I had the privilege to create the dessert table for a Winter Wonderland party hosted by Saba Ahmed during the first week of December. What drew me so much to her was her esthetics and attention to detail for her event. The palette given to me comprised of Snow White, Soft Blue, Gold, and Silver; one of a kind, novel to my style and tricky to seek balance to pull off. We planned out seven desserts dressed in the theme and the results overwhelmed us.

If you have been following my Instagram stories, you would have noticed how fairytale-like was the decor she put together and I couldn't have asked for a better platform to line up my creations.

First up is this bowl of Chocolate cheesecake adorned in edible Baubles made from white chocolate and hand-painted in edible paints. Merry and bright.

I had beautiful reviews both on and off the gram for these and many of you asked what these were. They are Red velvet cake truffles prepared with Red velvet cake and two other secret ingredients which made all the difference to woo you as you bite into one. They were dipped in white chocolate followed by adorning with dainty handmade edible threads and a vintage plaque. The silver plaques portrayed Candy canes and the soft blue ones had a shimmery Christmas tree against a chalky powder blue backdrop.

The truffles had a gold version too. And how this reminds me of the decor for our doors to greet guests.Chalk white and Glamorous gold!

The cake for the table was a spiced Carrot with Cinnamon cream cheese frosting. If you have been following me for a while, you would recognize the classic wreath and bauble decor I do atop all my Christmas edition cakes. This time was no different and I am pleased how lovely the colours looked together. Polka dotted white and gold baubles, crisp white wreath and frosty looking pinecones with shimmery blue berries laced in and out. During my first meeting with the client, I took pictures of some elements in her decor that can be recreated in edible form on the bakes, one that caught my attention a lot were the frosty pinecones. I love Pinecones. They are so versatile in size, shape and texture. An element one can play with fearlessly.

These are handmade cones in Modelling chocolate that I make at home. Tastes delicious too !

Also what do you think of the soft blue shimmery chocolate berries? I have used the chocolate colours by @magic_colours_inside to attain the right tone.

I have also given a subtle marble detail in the centre of the cake that has been gilded in silver. There it is, a full view of this beauty. Shimmery and Frosty.

The Cookie tree was the star, focal point, showstopper or whatever you call it on that table. These were Gingerbread cookies stacked and decorated with Royal icing and edible silver. The effect intended was a shimmery snow-capped tree with the silver showing every now and then as you rotate the tree. I am running out of words to describe how elated I was upon completing this magical piece.

The Classic Brownie from my oven gets a makeover for winter. Atleast that's how I looked at it. A generous dusting of Confectioner's sugar and a pair of Silver Holly leaves with frosty winter berries in soft blue- all edible decor.

"Deck the halls Tiramisu"

Those who know me too well also know how much I heart a Tiramisu. When we added it to the menu, my mind began frantically searching for what could be done to bring on that Oomph. It just had to be grand and I decided on taking inspiration from a pearl-studded candle my client was adding to her table. These stunning trees are wafer cones coated in chocolate and edible pearls. Perfect toppers for a dessert like Tiramisu where you have constraints to decorate.

Some clients I absolutely heart, for they know the power of word of mouth and how crucial it is for small business owners like me to grow. Thank you so much Saba for spreading the word.

The Red velvet cake truffles dressed as presents along with the Bauble topped Cheesecake went out again in a different colour palette dressed as trees and bows for another Winter party hosted by Zane. The Christmas Red is so vibrant innit?

A nice clutter of the batch.

This is the other design I did for the truffles. A lovely red bow atop each of em.

" Your Chocolate cheesecake is so rich and delicious, tastes like a Godiva dessert" Says my client.

My Cheesecakes are always baked. Hence the silky, yet firm texture as you dig in. One of the best ways to bring out great flavors in your desserts is selecting ingredients from reputed brands. I never compromise on my cheese, chocolate or cocoa.

That's about it.

This event certainly turned out to be one to remember and smile at. For me as well as the client ! I hope and pray to stumble upon such opportunities in the years to come.
