A German Chocolate cake layered with coconut pecan custard filling, frosted in Ganache, draped in Fondant. "Valar morghulis" translates to "all men must die". This cake is a statement creation taking inspiration from Devian Art and woven together with the elements from the series.The tree branch at the base depicts the "Weirwood tree".Weirwoods are considered sacred to the followers of the old gods, and children of the forest believe weirwoods are the gods.The five-pointed leaves and the sap of weirwoods are blood-red, while the smooth bark on their wide trunks and wood are bone white.I chose a skull with the sword going through with blood dripping in the background as it best represents the true essence of this fiction in all its gore and dramatic presentation. The skull was created in Gumpaste by Finger painting technique, tree sculpted in gum paste and homemade glaze to draw in the Blood drip effect. Made for Shaham who is a big fan of this series for his birthday on request by Tanya upon recommendation by Wilma.
