"The Christmas Tree Cake" -HERSHEY'S BAKE-OFF FINALE
A Chocolate fruit cake layered & frosted in Ganache.This cake depicts a snow-capped Christmas tree standing 42cm tall decorated with metallic Christmas ornaments, presents, pinecones, Santa's Sack lying half open & gifts spilling out.The snow has been created with coconut flakes, Star cake topper, as well as the decorations, have been sculpted by hand from Modelling Chocolate and royal icing piping techniques.The Creation was my entry as a finalist for Hershey's Bake-off finale and won me the 3rd place.The inspiration to create such a recipe was to bring in a variant of the traditional Christmas rich fruit cake by adding Chocolate, Cocoa, Orange juice & Espresso in various stages of the preparation.
