"Think Mint" - Birthday Edition
DESIGN INSPIRATION- This cake took shape from a sketch I made for my client Rozan. Although we began with Sky blue and Green as the palette, she came back with a change of mind and we decided on Mint with Junk Gold. When I started off as a baker, I had the utmost admiration for these kind of palettes and it is only a matter of luck to have a client who is on the same page with a combination so stunning and elegant.
CAKE FLAVOUR-A delicately spiced Carrot cake layered with Cream Cheese frosting and frosted in Ganache.
DESIGN DETAILS- The body of the cake has been covered in Fondant and handpainted in Mint watercolor with a drip style to create the effect.Junk Gold made its entry through the handcrafted spray of gum paste leaves made to cascade down across the height of the cake.Rozan was in madly in love with the concept of adorned pearls I had done in a couple of my previous cakes.I decided to incorporate the same into the body of this cake.The sugar pearls used were of various sizes and many were handpainted to create more interest.
Rozan had commissioned this cake for her mother's 50th birthday and she had planned a surprise setup inside a Majlis amidst fairy lights and quirky birthday cards.I was glad I could bring a smile on her mom's face on her 50th and she was more than elated with the results.
